Has your dream ever seemed too huge to you?
"I'm not ready yet," are the ideas that start to seep in. When everything is ideal, I'll begin.
I used to believe that making big, perfect moves was necessary to achieve anything significant. I used to have big dreams, but I would frequently stop myself in my tracks because I was so sure that everything had to be planned out in advance.
Until one day, a fact slapped me between the eyes: Consistency beats perfection every time

The Takeaway from a Single Step
A few years ago, I had the desire to start running. I started devoting more time to run planning—considering routes, music selections, and equipment—than to actually running.
Then I made the decision to do precisely that—to put on my shoes and go outside.
On certain days, I went for a run. On other days I went for a mile run. No matter how quickly or how far I went, it made no difference. The magic was in being there each and every day, not in the distance.
My little efforts gradually added up to show that I had developed into a runner rather than merely someone who ran.
Why Showing Up Every Day Matters
It Builds Identity
Identity is found in the little things you do. Authors write. People run. Students gain knowledge.
Regular attendance helps you establish yourself as someone who does the thing rather than just talking about it.Momentum Over Motivation
Motivation is erratic; it fluctuates. However, you might get momentum by simply showing up. You will have more energy to continue if you make more little efforts.
How to Start Showing Up Today
Step 1: Break Down the Goal
Stop thinking about the big picture now and think about what tiny, easy thing you can do today.
Write one sentence. Stretch for five minutes. Arrange one drawer.
Step 2: Focus on Frequency, Not Perfection
It's not about doing things perfectly; it's about doing them regularly. The Power of Consistency
Small actions, performed regularly, yield large results. The best time to take the big plunge at just the right moment will pay less than one continuous small effort.
Step 3: Appreciate the Little Victories
Every action matters. Any amount of improvement should be celebrated.
Putting a "X" on your calendar, rewarding yourself with some sweets, or simply feeling proud of yourself for showing up are all options.
An Idea for You
What if all of your desires are just waiting for you when you show up?
Not tomorrow. Today, not when you're "ready."
You don't need to advance significantly every day. You can become closer to your desired self by taking even the smallest step forward.
If you're prepared to commit to attending today, leave a "Yes" comment!
Tell me what your first move is, and let's support one another!
You're capable.
Mindful Sundays
Walk outside every day even if it’s raining and cold….even if it’s only for 10 minutes!
